Shift:   Monday – Friday, 6 am start time – 3:30 pm, Alternating Saturdays & After Hours on call


Job Summary: Coordinate inbound freight deliveries. Monitor and provide necessary instructions to carriers and drivers. After hours on-call duty. Other duties as assigned by current Logistics Manager.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Work with purchasing daily to coordinate pickups and dispatch carriers/drivers.
  • Cube trucks while maximizing capacity of trailers and keeping trucks within legal weight.
  • Monitor loading process at the pickup points to assure timely arrival of product.
  • Must be available via company phone to answer questions and  problem solve when on call based on the rotating schedule.
  • Communicate with Purchasing in regards to all truck issues on a daily basis.
  • Provide assistance with any issues related to inbound  transportation.
  • Troubleshoot any problems on loads such as incorrect pickup #’s, phone #’s and product quantities.
  • Must be able to formulate most efficient loading schedule and zones as ELD’s mature.


  • 5 years prior Logistics and Dispatch management experience. 
  • Must have good understanding of the freight industry pertaining to produce, which includes knowledge of available asset carrier base, service range, rates, performance rating (OTD), ELD, Fuel costs.
  • Must be available via company phone to answer questions and  problem solve when on call based on the rotating schedule.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must exercise initiative, judgment, discretion, negotiating skills, and decision-making.
  • Ability to use time productively, efficiently, and  meet challenging work goals.
  • Ability to take on additional  responsibilities as needed as well as determine and  manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Must be proficient in Retalix Power Enterprise, Power Warehouse,  PTO
  • Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of proper temps to run trucks with different produce commodities.
  • Extensive knowledge of West Coast geography,  shipping points, lane management,  within the states of CA, AZ, TX, WA, and OR.
