Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for executing the activities of retail produce sales and merchandising to insure satisfactory sales and profits for the company, as directed by the Retail Sales Manager. Addressing the needs and insuring the satisfaction of our customers. This includes assigned customers, as well as, providing sales support of retail salespersons.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma/GED. At least two (2) years sales experience selling and/or merchandising retail or food service products; produce knowledge preferred.

 

  1. Target stores merchandising, order completion, inventory control
  2. Grocery Retailer visits and customer relationship building
  3. Sales route maintenance
  4. Keeping abreast of market conditions and new items
  5. Assist in pricing strategies—developing price/order guides
  6. Assist in meeting all company sales and profit objectives
  7. Maintain a sound working knowledge of all markets and growing conditions.
  8. Assist in presentations of profitable programs to potential and existing customers.
  9. Notify and assist Supervisor of customer's needs and preferences.
  10. Maintain effective, professional relationships with retailers, vendors, and fellow employees.
  11. Assist and organize for special sales and promotions.
  12. Assist in departmental resets and grand openings when called upon.
  13. Participate in special projects deemed necessary to the operation and well-being of the company.
  14. Attend all sales meetings and appointments, (be on time, punctual) as directed
  15. Make sure all orders are submitted before scheduled cut off times.
  16. Walk warehouse-checking product as determined by schedule
  17. Responsible for Quality and Food Safety.
  18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Timely and accurate with paperwork, figures, attentive to detail, and have good follow-through, excellent phone skills, PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
  2. Must be flexible and able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously.
  3. Must have proven problem-solving skills.
  4. Must be skilled in time management and be capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
  5. Must have demonstrated excellent written, verbal and oral presentation skills.
  6. Prefer both retail and wholesale produce experience.
  7. Must have an excellent work record with references from current and/or previous employers.
  8. Ability to plan, organize, implement, and follow through on projects.
  9. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  10. Must have own reliable vehicle and proof of insurance
