Since planting our first seeds 2011, our team has created a sustainable urban farm where the harvest cycle is days, not months. Our hydroponic, vertical farm uses 90 percent less water than traditional agriculture, is pesticide and herbicide free, and we harvest tender microgreens daily, regardless of season. We grow in square feet, not acres. We use energy efficient LED lights and in our fully climate controlled facility to consistently produce the freshest greens that can be to a customers plate within hours of harvest. From our Seattle farm located in the SODO neighborhood we supply microgreens to local marketplaces and hundreds loyal restaurants all over the Pacific Northwest. At Farmbox Greens we work hard because we believe that food should be grown responsibly, locally, and taste delicious.   The Role The Farm Operations Assistant position is with Farmbox Greens the indoor agriculture division of Charlie’s produce.     We are seeking a hardworking, detail oriented, self-starter to add to our team to help with day to day production and farm operations. This is an entry-level position which entails all aspects of indoor farming including planting, harvesting, packaging, cleaning, and food safety. Our facility is highly regulated by our food safety measures which require our employees to have attention to detail with all aspects of their work.   Schedule   Monday – Friday, Dayshift, 40 hours per week. Start time subject to change. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of accounting or finance and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience as a staff accountant. The Role: Employee will work in a refrigerated food processing facility, in various positions both independently and as part of a team, to create finished products for distribution. This Prep position concentrates mainly on actual cutting and shaping of assorted vegetable and fruit products, i.e. Peeling, Dicing, Slicing, etc. either by hand or by various mechanical equipment. The Role The Transportation Safety Coordinator reports directly to our corporate Director of Safety and is responsible to work with divisions to ensure they are in compliance with all local and federal state laws and regulations along with company policies. Coordinates the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents. Responsible for developing and distributing driver training materials which include on-boarding training and orientation, remedial training, and other DOT and FMCSA required trainings. The position assists in ensuring we maintain our reputable safety scores. The position will also be responsible for maintaining compliant files and records and efficient use of Hours of Service. This position requires a significant knowledge of various generally recognized workplace safety, transportation safety programs and DOT and FMCSA regulatory compliance systems.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Effectively evaluate, monitor, analyze and identify all driver and vehicle compliance and non-compliance issues and resolve them in a timely manner. - Responsible for helping manage internal and external compliance reporting, providing compliance advice and assistance, conducting compliance investigations, manage on-going education program. - Monitor and assist in enforcement of DOT and FMCSA regulations to ensure compliance. - Responsible for conducting all tasks associated with: - Driver Qualifications – Medical Cards/Physicals, Licenses, Annual Driving Records - Driver Training – DOT regulations, Hazmat training (all areas required for our industry) - Driver Records – Processing employment applications, DOT required documents, company policies, CSA, MVR, criminal background, PSP, etc. - DOT Drug Testing -Administer random drug screens and oversee FMCSA Clearinghouse - Reviews reporting of all vehicle and employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability and identifying potential trends. - Help oversee vehicle accident claims and identify any trends and corrective actions. - Maintain roadside inspections and citations including overweight, traffic violations, etc. - Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure all recorded information is accurate and belongs to our company record.
