Schedule   Primarily day shift, must be able to work holidays and weekends.   The Role   The Ripening Lead role is responsible for supporting the ripening on daily inventory of all commodities assigned specifically bananas. Responsible for maintaining the proper color chart or ripeness level expectations with very low tolerance for variance. It is a fast paced environment where the volume of inventory requires a high level of tracking and following proper procedures using the warehouse management system to maintain inventory integrity by following best practices.   Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To - Guide and direct team of 2-3 Ripeners with operations  - Work closely with scheduling planning and production process to meet deadlines. - Ripening Banana or other commodity according to SOPs. - Assist daily Inventory for all item codes under job responsibility - Check Banana or other commodity that is ripened upon arrival. - Conduct quality check, sorting & grading of Banana in warehouse. - Communicate timely deliveries. - Help oversee fill rate of all item codes involving ripened commodities. - Track proper scheduled guidelines in ripening status - Banana Room maintenance and sanitation. - Communicate any changes or errors in ripening process to supervisors - Communicate daily banana color itinerary to sales team via email. - All other duties as assigned by Operations Manager which may entail assisting other departments. The Role   The Food Safety Supervisor works with the Warehouse Operations Manager on all food safety and quality assurance programs. We are looking for a dynamic contributor who can effect change and build upon current systems. This position requires a significant knowledge of various generally recognized food safety, quality programs and regulatory compliance.   Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To - Ensures highly disciplined compliance with all regulatory and company defined food safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures, and practices to ensure that we receive, store and distribute safe quality products. - Communicate and present information to vendors and customers. - Conducts investigations for out of compliance issues and customer complaints, makes recommendations to resolve these instances, and completes corrective actions (when applicable), including a trend analysis report. - Develops, implements, and sustains new methods and procedures to drive improvements in food safety and quality. - Current HACCP knowledge and capability to plan, control, and document processes and procedures consistent with FDA’s guidelines. - Be able to provide quality instruction and support for implementing and managing the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System, PrimusGFS and Organic Certification requirements. - Interacts with Regulatory Agencies and 3rd Party Auditors. - Monitoring, documenting and reporting to measure compliance with company standards. - Conduct internal audits and self-inspections of all facilities. - Works with operations and other team members to ensure warehouse activities pass our food safety and sanitation requirements.
